Journalist couple to adopt an abandoned baby girl in Rajasthan
Journalist couple Vinod Kapri and Sakshi Joshi have decided to adopt a newborn baby girl whose biological parents have abandoned her. A video of the baby girl on a heap of garbage in Nagaur, Rajasthan went viral on social media. The newborn was covered in blood. The couple soon traced the baby to the local hospital after looking for her seeing the video. They volunteered to adopt and raise the baby. This humanitarian gesture received praise on social media. Kapri has posted a picture of the girl in the hospital and has named her Pihu. It is remarkable that in a patriarchal country like India, the couple has chosen to care for a baby girl. Stigmas related to adoption and female children are slowly declining due to the efforts of people like Vinod and Sakshi.
