Mamata Banerjee meets doctors and assures them of their safety
Mamata Banerjee met protesting doctors at Nabanna to discuss issues that lea them to strike. While the doctors wanted to meet Mamata Banerjee in an open meeting with the Media, she denied the request. Addressing the issues, Mamata Banerjee assured the doctors of their safety and as the first step, she has directed the police commissioner to appoint a nodal police officer in all hospitals to resolve disputes before it gets out of hand. The doctors had put forth the idea of a Grievance Redressal Cell which has been accepted and will soon be set up in all hospitals. The strike has been taxing on the doctors and the common people, a resolution is essential to restore crucial services.
