Mahalakshmi Express stranded in flood with 700 passengers
The Mahalakshmi Express Train traveling between Mumbai and Kolhapur is stuck with 700 passengers in the flood caused by the overflow of the Ulhas River. The train could not travel beyond Chamtoli and is stranded. The passengers are unable to come outside the train. The Maharashtra government has requested the NDRF to help in rescue by airlifting the passengers. The passengers will be taken to Badlapur by a special train where relief materials are being arranged. An aerial view of the train shows it being surrounded completely by water.
