Doctors protest against the Medical Commission Bill
Doctors across the nation and the Indian Medical Association are protesting against the Medical Commission Bill. The Medical Commission Bill seeks to replace National Medical Commission (NMC) with Medical Council of India (MCI). It also seeks to do away with the NEET PG exam. The medical fraternity has termed the Bill ‘draconian’. Doctors have felt that many unqualified people will be ble to obtain a license for practice if the Bill becomes a law. While emergency services are being provided, doctors have withdrawn all non-essential services.
