Supreme Court directs CBI to escalate probe on Unnao survivor’s accident
The Supreme Court rejected the CBI’s request for four weeks time to probe the Unnao rape survivor’s accident case. The Supreme Court has directed the CBI to complete the probe in 2 weeks and present their findings. It also directed the Uttar Pradesh government to remit 5 lakh rupees to the lawyer for his medical expenses. The survivor, her lawyer and two of her aunts were in the car on the way to the court while the accident occurred. The accident killed her aunts while she and her lawyer are admitted in AIIMS. Pressure from the Supreme Court to probe the case will speed up the process of justice for the girl.
