Bihar Police dismisses sedition case against 49 celebrities
After a case was lodged against 49 celebrities who wrote an open letter to PM Modi against mob violence, the Bihar Police has decided to drop the case. The petitioner filed the case on the grounds of sedition but dissent is the essence of democracy and it does not mean going against the government. The Bihar Police failed to find anything substantial in the claims and has thereby decided to close it. The petitioner, Advocate Sudhir Kumar Ojha failed to make a substantial argument or even produce a copy of the original letter. On these grounds, the police have decided to take action against him for filing a false case.
