The regional parties are not keen to accept Rahul Gandhi’s overall leadership in the fight against the BJP, which was evident from the poor response his lieutenants got when they tried to reach out to regional satraps for a floor coordination meeting. A top regional party leader said, “Why would we strengthen the Congress when it is itself not clear on what it wants? Its own members have time and again been raising questions over the ability of Rahul Gandhi to lead at this juncture.
