Only Parliament Can Remove “Socialism” And “Secularism” From Constitution: SC
The Supreme Court of India on Monday (25th November) dismissed a petition seeking the removal of the words “Socialism” and “Secularism” from the Preamble of the Indian Constitution stating that only the Parliament of India can amend the Constitution of the country. The petition was filed by senior BJP leader Subramanian Swamy, advocate Ashwini Upadhyay and a petitioner named Balram Singh.
