‘If I Am Alive Today, It Is Because Of PM Modi And HM Shah’: Nupur Sharma
On 14th March, former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Nupur Sharma said that she is alive today because Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah assured her safety. Speaking at the Mahila Sammelan organised by the Delhi chapter of Sewa Bharti, Sharma spoke about the hardships she has endured over the past several years.
In May 2022, Sharma appeared on a TV debate on Times Now. During the debate, Tasleem Ahmed Rehmani, a panelist, used derogatory remarks against Lord Shiva. As a counter, Sharma quoted some religious text. The matter did spark controversy, but it was Mohammad Zubair who trimmed the video, removed Rehmani’s comment and presented it as if Nupur Sharma had insulted Prophet Mohammed and Islam.
