Crackdown In Ahmedabad Ahead Of Deepawali: 61 Suspected Illegal Bangladeshi Migrants Detained
In a major security crackdown ahead of Deepawali, the Ahmedabad Crime Branch has detained 61 suspected illegal immigrants, predominantly from Bangladesh, following coordinated raids across multiple parts of the city. The operation has once again brought the issue of illegal immigration and the need for stronger border and internal security measures into sharp focus.
According to police, the crackdown was carried out through intelligence gathering and coordinated searches across multiple zones to identify foreign nationals allegedly residing in India without valid documentation. Legal procedures for their deportation are now underway, officials said on November 2.
