EC expresses displeasure over Railways and Aviation not complying with code
The Election Commission of India wrote letters to the Railway Board and the Ministry of Civil Aviation regarding their non-compliance with the Model Code of Conduct enforced before the elections. The picture of the current Prime Minister was printed on Rail and Air tickets which violated the code. The Commission has also directed that action must be taken against the officers responsible and the same must be reported to the Commission within a week. The measure is in force to ensure a fair platform for all parties that are contesting in the elections. Each party must have a level ground while campaigning during elections.
