EC restricts Mayawati and Yogi from campaigning for a few days due to violation

The Election Commission placed a temporary ban on campaigning for Mayawati and Yogi Adityanath as they had made controversial statements that defied the model code of conduct. The ban starts at 6 am on 16th April and extends for three days (Yogi) and two days (Mayawati). The statements made appealed to specific religions which is not acceptable in a democratic election.
