ED Cracks Down On Azam Khan, Attaches ₹1170 Crore Jauhar University Assets
The ED’s investigation has uncovered allegations that funds intended for public infrastructure and welfare projects were diverted towards the development of the private university. The agency has also alleged that government-funded construction work was carried out on the campus and that contractors receiving state contracts routed money back to the trust as donations.
One of the most significant allegations concerns a company that secured Public Works Department (PWD) contracts worth approximately Rs 186 crore. According to the ED, the company’s managing director allegedly admitted that 30–40 per cent of the contract value was used to purchase construction materials for the university.
