First woman VC appointed at Jamia Millia Islamia

Najma Akthar, member of the National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration has been appointed as the first woman Vice-chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia. The institution started in 1920, before Indian Independence is welcoming a woman as the VC for the first time in almost a century. The President has approved the proposal to appoint Najma Akthar put forth by the HRD ministry.
