Foreign tourists shares less than 1% in Odisha
The number of foreign tourists visiting Odisha in the country’s total foreign visit percentage has been less than 1% for almost 8 years. Odisha is a state rich in culture, nature, art and architecture. The state has tremendous potential to generate revenue and economic growth. However, India is still lacking behind in the hospitality and tourism sector. Important temples such as Puri do not allow the entry of non-Hindus which further narrows down the scope.
