Hema Malini makes a case for doctors in the Lok Sabha
After a series of protests by doctors concerning their safety in hospitals, BJP MP from Mathura Hema Malini made a strong plea in the Lok Sabha asking for laws to assure doctors their rights. She highlighted various issues faced by doctors including extensive working hours and emotional burden. She strongly asserted that there needed to be strict laws in place to prevent assaults against doctors. The medical community including doctors and other health professionals are an asset to the country especially considering the dismal doctor to patients ratio.
