Himanta Biswa Sarma Orders Assam Police To “Take Care” Of “Naxalite” Rahul Gandhi
On Tuesday, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma labeled the Congress protests near Guwahati as “Naxalite tactics” and directed the state’s Director General of Police (DGP) to file a case against Rahul Gandhi for allegedly “provoking the crowd.” The Congress leader is heading the party’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra from Manipur to Mumbai. Earlier, Congress workers, barred from entering Guwahati, clashed with Assam police. Chief Minister Sarma, in a social media post on platform X, asserted that such “Naxalite tactics” were unfamiliar to Assam’s cultural ethos.
