Lawyers protest against Ranchi Court Decision in Richa Bharti Case
A 19 year old girl Richa Bharti recently faced a trial in Ranchi Court for making a Facebook post that was allegedly targeting the Muslims. The Judge Manish Kumar Singh granted her bail while directing her to distribute copies of the Quran to various institutions in the city. While the case involved communal elements, the judgement should be free of any such biases. The Ranchi Bar Association, dissatisfied with the judgement has decided to boycott the judge and many have requested for a transfer from his jurisdiction. Richa Bharti refused to comply to this condition. While the Ranchi court has accepted it’s misjudgement, it is crucial for lawmakers and law enforcers of the country to be unbiased and uphold the values of the Constitution.
