The 34-year-old democratic socialist and former state assemblyman who won a historic upset in the 2025 election by defeating former Governor Andrew Cuomo and Republican Curtis Sliwa is now facing an intense setback after a data showing antisemitic hate crimes surge was released by the New York City Police Department (NYPD). The Jewish community in New York have started coming down to streets after the Jews got targeted in hate crimes nearly everyday.
