Nirmala Sitharaman says Bangalore, Kolkata will be enumerated in next year’s Ease of Business
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced that Bangalore and Kolkata’s performance will be enumerated in the World Bank’s Ease of Doing Business Review from next year. Currently the World Bank considers only Delhi and Mumbai. Recently, India jumped to the 63rd position in the Ease of Doing Business Index which calculated various parameters that contribute to a simple process of owning and starting businesses. Though the Modi government could not accomplish its goal of reaching the top 50 in this report, a considerable progress has been made as India has managed to jump 10 steps above.
