Non NDA Parties support RTI Amendment Bill
The RTI Amendment Bill has been controversial as it will bring complete control of the tenure and salaries of the chief information commissioners and the information commissioners of the RTI under the ruling government. People have felt that this will reduce transperancy in the process. The BJP has repeatedly said that there was no intention to curb the autonomy of the RTI. Amdist this Non NDA parties like Biju Janata Dal and Telangana Rashtra Samiti have come out in favour of the amendment. The BJP posted on its official Twitter handle clarifying its stance. This has howvever not managed to convince the masses. Twitter is also witnessing many caricatures and cartoons on the RTI issue where people are claiming that the fundamental aspect of seeking information is being removed from the Bill.
