Prakash Javadekar encourages ‘selfie with sapling’ on World Environment Day
The Union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar launched the #SelfieWithSapling initiative on social media where citizens are encouraged to plant a sapling and share a selfie with it on the occasion of World Environment Day. Prakash Javadekar said that active participation from citizens was imperative to tackling environmental issues. The movement for a cleaner and greener environment is a movement of the people. The World Environment Day this year is being hosted by China with the theme of Air Pollution. The Environment Ministry has released a video ‘Hawa Aane De’ in sync with the theme.
