Shikhar Dhawan to be replaced by Rishab Pant in the ICC World Cup
Due to a thumb fracture, India’s opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan will be replaced by Rishabh Pant in the ICC World Cup 2019. Shikhar Dhawan’s injury requires a minimum of two weeks to heal which implies that he will not be a part of the rest of India’s matches. The injury happened during India’s match with Australia in The Oval. Meanwhile Rishabh Pant will be taking his position. However, Assistant Coach Sanjay Bangar has said that Dhawan was a key player and his progress would be monitored to check if he will be in a condition to play future matches as he is one of the key players in the Indian team.
