Shocking statement made by Kerala Congress MP’s wife, asks women to enjoy rape
A disgusting and shocking statement was posted by Kerala Congress MP Hibi Eden’s wife, Anna Linda on her Facebook page and the comment is quoted as follows ‘Fate is like rape, if you can’t resist it, then try to enjoy it’. Along with the statement she had posted two videos, one of her child being rescued in a flood and one of her husband eating noodles. The post has been taken down. In a country where women face threats to their safety and news about young girls being raped is published every day, this comment is in bad taste and extremely insensitive. Being a woman, a well-known woman at that, she should be understanding of what is appropriate to say. However, what one truly feels eventually comes out and it is distressing to hear how she is blatantly dismissing the seriousness of a crime.
