India’s lawn bowls women’s team created history by winning the country’s maiden gold medal in the sport while the table tennis men’s team managed to defend their title. The weightlifting contingent continued to contribute to India’s medal tally with Vikas Thakur clinching a silver medal in men’s 96kg weightlifting, while Harjinder Kaur won a bronze medal with a total weight of 212kg (93 in snatch and 119 in clean and jerk).
