Tribal man killed by mob for suspected cow slaughter

Four tribal community members in Jharkhand were cutting the flesh of a dead ox when a few people spotted them and assumed they had slaughtered a cow. The mob started thrashing the men which led to the death of one and serious injury of three others. Polarization and extremism in the name of religion and protection of culture is completely unjustified and unacceptable. If cow slaughter is a sin, then is human slaughter not?
