UP Govt To Set Up Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) Training Centre In Saharanpur’s Deoband

The Uttar Pradesh government will be opening one of the many command centres of the police’s Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) in Deoband in Saharanpur, an announcement that kicked a political storm with BJP leaders hailing it as a timely move amid the Taliban’s occupation of Afghanistan while some opposition leaders felt it is meant to “instil fear” among Muslims in the region.
