n a strange silence, neither the Prime Minister Narendra Modi nor the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has uttered a word on the recent attacks on Hindu temples in Bangladesh. The neighbouring country had erupted on October 13 on Ashtami, or the principal day of Durga Puja, when word spread that Hindus had desecrated the Quran by placing it on the knee of an idol at a puja pandal in Qoumillah.
