India is increasing its usage of Coal and has dismissed the uncalled criticism of its coal usage. The developed countries are reducing their usage which they want India to follow. Not only that, India plans to double its coal production to 1500 crore tonnes a year by 2020, as part of PM Modi’s push to bring power to more than 300 million people who live without electricity, and in addition this should give manufacturing a boost. This will also address the issue of India importing over Rupees 11,000 crores per year of foreign coal, while sitting on one of the largest coal reserves in the world.
