According to reports, Suvendu Adhikari took 14 major decisions within 48 hours of becoming Chief Minister of West Bengal. These included:
- Ban on roadside namaz and tighter loudspeaker regulations.
- Reopening post-poll violence cases from the 2021 and 2023 elections.
- Investigations into killings of BJP workers.
- Strict non-bailable action against communal violence offenders.
- Crackdown on illegal cattle smuggling and unauthorized cattle markets.
- Action against “syndicate raj” and illegal mining networks.
- Transfer of land to the BSF for border fencing within 45 days.
- Review and withdrawal of security cover for people with criminal backgrounds.
- Rollout of pending central schemes like Ayushman Bharat and other welfare programs.
- Implementation of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita in West Bengal.
- Removal of TMC-appointed members from government boards and PSUs.
- Allowing IAS and IPS officers to participate in central government training programs.
- Increasing the upper age limit for state government jobs from 40 to 45 years.
