After Assam, Nagaland to bring out something similar to NRC
Nagaland has decided to have a process similar to Assam’s NRC wherein the citizens belonging to Nagaland will have to obtain a Register of Indigenous Inhabitants of Nagaland Certificate. This process is likely to begin from July 10 where existing government records will be checked and a list of indigenous citizens will be prepared. A census like enumeration will be conducted in the state where officials will be visiting homes to collect data. Nagaland will also be considered a disturbed area for another six months.
