Bengal's Bhatpara under Section 144 post violent clash

Bengal’s Bhatpara and Jagatdal areas witnessed a violent clash between two groups leading to the death of two men. Following this violence, the government has imposed Section 144 in the areas. CM Mamata Banerjee had called from an emergency meeting in order to review the situation. The clash was armed as bullets were fired and low-intensity bombs were set off. Shops and establishments in the area have been shut while several people have fled from their homes. The police personnel deployed had to use tear gas bombs in order to curb violence. The area has been witnessing violence since the last few phases of the Lok Sabha Election 2019.
