Dalit Children segregated in Uttar Pradesh school, video goes viral
A video of Dalit children having their lunch sitting separately from other children in a school in Uttar Pradesh went viral on social media. Other primary school children in the same school carried their plates from home as they did not want to eat from the same plates as the Dalit children. Following the news, District Magistrate Dr Bhawani Singh Khangarau went on a surprise visit to the school in order to review and check the validity of the video. After a surface-level examination, the District Magistrate said that the children do not face discrimination but a deeper probe has been ordered.
