Decisions regarding Sushma Swaraj, Advani and Joshi’s positions in Rajya Sabha to be taken this week
The BJP is likely to decide whether Sushma Swaraj, LK Advani and Murali Manohar Joshi will be given positions in the Rajya Sabha since they had not contested in the Lok Sabha election 2019. LK Advani and Murali Manohar Joshi are veteran BJP leaders who are experienced and knowledgable which would be beneficial in the Upper House of the Parliament. Sushma Swaraj was the External Affairs Ministers in the previous regime and was commended for her prompt and efficient work. The BJP had set an age limit of 75 years to contest in the election for ministerial positions but no such limit has been set to become a member of the Rajya Sabha. The BJP is contemplating on the members to b chosen as 10 seats in the Rajya Sabha will vacant over the course of the next two months.
