Nuclear test during the Vajpayee government-That was on May 11, 1998. The Indian government, led by former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, surprised the entire world by conducting a nuclear test in Pokhran, Rajasthan. India’s move to the entire world has come as a surprise to India, as it has maintained a high level of privacy regarding the nuclear tests. Former President Dr Atal Bihari Vajpayee was then a Scientific Adviser to Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. APJ Abdul Kalam was in charge of India’s nuclear test.
