Dynasty Politics continues as Udayanidhi Stalin and Nikhil Kumaraswamy appointed as Youth Wing leaders
Dynastic politics is not truly democratic yet parties in India have sons succeeding their fathers as leaders. Recently, MK Stalin’s son Udayanidhi Stalin was appointed as the Secretary of the Youth Wing of the DMK. Similarly, in Karnataka, Nikhil Kumaraswamy was posted as the JDS Youth Wing President. The position as a Youth Wing leader is an important one as a major chunk of the voting population is fairly young. Despite this, family rule is given greater importance than calibre. Till now even Rahul Gandhi was being pressurized to continue as the Congress President only because he belonged to the Gandhi family and the intention was to keep the party leadership within the family.
