EC seeks report on Navjot Singh Sidhu’s appeal to Muslims

Cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu has stoked controversy by urging Muslim voters of a Lok Sabha constituency in Bihar with a sizeable population of the minority community to vote en bloc and defeat (Prime Minister) Narendra Modi. While BJP has said that it will move the Election Commission over Sidhu’s controversial comment, which is similar to Mayawati’s comments, EC has sought a report from the district election officer.
