Election Commission Plea To Supreme Court Disqualify 17 MLA’s From Assembly Polls

Election commission had plead Supreme Court regarding the elimination of 17 MLA’s name from the Assembly polls. The former Karnataka Speaker had ordered to disqualify the names of the 17 MLA’s from 15 constituencies.

The hearing of the pleas regarding the disqualification will be  heard on 25th September.  The Supreme court has issued notice to the Speaker . Election commission said “The Speaker’s order cannot deprive them of the right to contest the elections,”. The seat is vacant after disqualification but the MLA’s cannot be stopped from contesting for the seat said Election commission.
