The Election Commission requested Twitter to delete a post carrying fake information about the indelible ink used during the elections. The post contained information about the ingredients used in the making of the ink which were found to be false and misleading. Twitter complied and took down the post. The Election Commission has requested the Delhi Police to lodge an FIR against the Twitter handle which circulated the tweet. Incidents such as this are an attempt to instigate certain sections of society for or against a cause. It is necessary to be careful while accepting and believing posts on social media.
