Facebook takes down 687 pages related to Congress

Social Media giant Facebook said that 687 pages related to Congress were taken down as they were discovered to be related to an IT Cell of the Congress Party. The pages were removed for spreading spam and depicting ‘inauthentic behaviour’ as opposed to pages that were taken down previously due to fake news and content. Facebook is taking measures to ensure that no misinformation is spread on its platform as it has faced flak in the past for data breach.
