Former MLA of Pakistan government seeks asylum in India

Former Pakistan legislator from Imran Khan’s Tehreek-i-Insaf party sought political asylum in India. The 43 year old MLA named Baldev Singh is currently in Ludhiana and requested India to grant him asylum as minorities in Pakistan are being persecuted. He was previously living in   Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from where he fled along with his family to India. He said that minorities are denied their rights in Pakistan and several instances of violence and forced conversion have occurred.
