Karnataka govt has passed a bill to collect a 10% tax from temples with revenues exceeding ₹1 crore and 5% from those with revenues ranging between ₹10 lakh to ₹1 crore. The govt stated that the collection will go to the Common Pool Fund (CPF), which will be used to improve the condition of C-grade temples and provide quality education to children of priests.

Does the Karnataka govt also collect a 10% tax from other religious sites like mosques or churches for Waqf development, Haj Bhawan, and the Christian community? Free Temples across India is the need of the hour.
