HEARING ON PETITIONS CHALLENGING ‘PLACES OF WORSHIP ACT’ ADJOURNED TO 14 NOVEMBER; NEW CJI TO DECIDE THE BENCH FOR CASE

A three-judge bench of the Supreme Court comprising of the Chief Justice of India U U Lalit, Justice R Bhatt and Justice Ajay Rastogi, has listed the petitions challenging the provisions of the Places of Worship (Special Provisions) Act, 1991 for 14 November. The central government has been directed to file its reply by 31 October.

1989-90 में, राजीव गांधी के प्रधान मंत्री और फारूक अब्दुल्ला के मुख्यमंत्री के रूप में, 400,000 कश्मीरी पंडितों, सिखों और अन्य लोगों को नरसंहार का सामना करना पड़ा - या तो रातों-रात कश्मीर छोड़ने के लिए मजबूर होना पड़ा । "द कश्मीर फाइल्स" इसका एक छोटा सा हिस्सा ही दिखाता है। क्या कश्मीर में हुए नरसंहार पर कानून बनाया जाना चाहिए और अत्याचारों की पूरी जांच होनी चाहिए?
