India markets election tourism

Indian general elections is the greatest show on earth and making tourism capital out of it is a no-brainer. Some Indian tour companies are courting international visitors with week-long ‘election tourism’ packages that would try to combine some traditional sightseeing with access to political campaigning. That Gujarat figured out its potential way back in 2012 during the assembly polls and again during 2014 during Lok Sabha elections.
