Is justice served? Three receive life imprisonment in Kathua rape-murder
The horrifying case where an 8-year-old girl was raped and murdered in Kathua received a court verdict where three of the six perpetrators of violence have received a life imprisonment sentence while the rest have been given a five-year jail term. The perpetrators of the absolutely inhumane and heartless act are only being sent to jail where they will never have a sense of the extent of pain that they inflicted on an innocent child. The six men who were convicted deserve to be punished much more severely for their actions. The National Commission for Women has demanded capital punishment for the convicts saying that it was not justice to merely jail them. The trauma and pain that the girl would have undergone will not be experienced by the convicts. Solitary confinement and capital punishment are some of the harshest punishments which the convicts deserve.
