Mumbai’s iconic Parsi Dairy Farm loses license in Maharashtra FDA crackdown
The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has suspended the FSSAI licence of Parsi Dairy Farm Pvt. Ltd., located on Princess Street in Mumbai’s Marine Lines–Kalbadevi area, following an inspection that uncovered serious hygiene and food safety violations.
During an inspection carried out on 14 July 2026, Food Safety Officers identified multiple breaches of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, and the Food Business Licensing and Registration Regulations, 2011. Acting on the inspection findings, the Designated Officer and the Assistant Commissioner (Food), Division-1, issued an order on 15 July 2026 suspending the company’s licence.
The inspection report highlighted several major deficiencies related to hygiene and food safety practices. As a result of the suspension, the establishment has been barred from manufacturing, storing, selling, or distributing any food products until further notice. The FDA has warned that any violation of the suspension order will attract appropriate legal action.
