Operation Sindoor Impact: Turkish Firm Celebi Aviation Lost 500 Million Overnight
The impact of Operation Sindoor continues to reverberate beyond the battlefield, with Turkish aviation services giant Celebi Aviation claiming that its exit from India resulted in an overnight loss of nearly $500 million (around ₹4,700 crore) in business value. The company’s chairperson, Canan Celebioglu, said the revocation of security clearance by Indian authorities in May 2025 effectively wiped out nearly two decades of investment and operations in the country.
Celebi, which previously handled ground services and cargo operations at several major Indian airports, was forced to cease operations after the government cited national security concerns following heightened tensions between India and Turkey over Ankara’s support for Pakistan during Operation Sindoor. The company has described the development as a major financial and operational setback, while Indian authorities have maintained that the decision was taken in the interest of national security.
