Orange Jersey for Indian Team ridiculously termed as Saffornisation
The Indian Cricket Team which will be donning a predominantly orange jersey in their match against England has driven several opposition parties to ridicule Modi for attempting to ‘saffronise’ everything. A colour has now begun to carry political associations with it. The Congress and Samajwadi Party’s Muslim leaders are those who are strongly against the design of the jersey saying that it represented Hinduism. However, these leaders never complained when orange was used previously in the jerseys of not only the Indian Cricket Team but also many other sports teams. BCCI has said that the colour was chosen based on an old model of India’s T20 jersey. The Opposition is ridiculously trying to politicize even trivial matters and draw unnecessary attention.
