On the occasion of International Tiger Day, PM Modi released crucial statistics and census report regarding the tiger population in India. The number of tigers in the country had increased significantly since 2014 which is a big success as it means illegal poaching and hunting. India is home to 70% of the world’s tiger population. PM Modi declared India as one of the safest habitats for tigers in the world as India houses almost 3000 tigers. Tigers were on the verge of extinction but several projects taken up to save them has paid off.
