Congress MP Rahul Gandhi was seen busy fidgeting on his phone during a Parliament session while the President was delivering his address. Rahul Gandhi’s picture with his phone went viral on social media and he was accused of disrespecting the President by not paying attention to his words. Rahul Gandhi also went on to stop his mother Sonia Gandhi from applauding at the end of the address. Following being called out on Twitter for disrespect, several Congress leaders have come out in support of Gandhi and said that he was listening to what was important. They went on to say that several Hindi words were incomprehensible to him due to which he lost track. It is considered basic etiquette to be attentive during a Parliament session, especially during the President’s address.
